Boux Avenue Manchester Arndale Bra Fitting Review

Well, that’s my underwear. Yep – let’s get it all out there today! A bra I wear. Some knickers I wear. We are all (mostly!) adults here and ladies, we all wear them, so let’s just get it all out in the open because today I am reviewing my recent bra fitting at Boux Avenue, Manchester Arndale store.

The Manchester Arndale Boux Avenue is the first Boux Avenue store I went to. I actually vividly remember attending it’s opening party in October 2013 (definitely because it was on the same day as Vogue’s Fashion Night Out in Manchester 2013) and being impressed with how light, spacious and pretty the store was. It kinda reminded me of a more approachable/lighter Victoria’s Secret store – if you’ve been to the VS Trafford Centre store, I’m sure you will know what I mean!

The layout of the store is easy to navigate around, and they sell lingerie (duh!), pyjamas, nightwear, accessories – yes, 1950’s Classic Hollywood fluffy heel slippers included – and some sweet smelling home-ware accessories. In fact, the whole scent of the smell is beautiful and makes me want to immediately purchase all of their candles and room diffusers the minute I enter; it’s sweet-but-sexy. Cringe, that kinda sounds like a 90’s magazine adjective.
At this time of the year, there’s understandably a whole host of spring-themed lingerie to choose from; think lots of pastels, florals and pretty pinks. But there’s still your classic reds and dark colours at the back of the store, and of course, a whole back wall of essentials including black/white/tan coloured underwear and slips. As we’re approaching summer holiday season, they also had a whole host of brightly coloured swimwear and bikinis on display, which was nice to see.
After selecting 5 different bra designs to try on, I was welcomed into a spacious changing room (with an intercom system, no less!) to commence my bra fitting. Micha, who was fitting me, was confident and knowledge about the best way to fit a bra and the measuring process was so thorough! She advised me on my size, the best type of bra for my size (balconette – FYI) and even recommended some styles that I hadn’t chosen which she thought would suit me. Throughout, nothing was too much trouble for her, and she was honest in her opinions on what she thought looked good and wasn’t pushy when I disagreed with a certain style! Over all, she was a dream to have fit me, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a Boux Avenue fitting to any lady looking for some new lingerie.

I left the store after an hour with the beautiful Amber Oriental lingerie set* (which after trying on 8 different styles in total, was ironically the very first one I picked and tried on – always the way). Since then, I have been so very impressed with Boux Avenue Manchester Arndale that I have signed up for their loyalty scheme – or ‘VIP card’ as they call it – and have made 3 more online purchases in 2 weeks. I can’t get enough and I am so thankful to their Manchester Arndale store for having me in to try out their beautiful undies… Although I suspect my credit card is somewhat less thankful now!

PS if you read this blog post expecting to see me modelling some lingerie half naked, unfortunately (or fortunately!) I saved you all that sight for sore eyes. You can thank me later.
